About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee HR operations for Germany and Austria in the dynamic retail and consumer goods industry. In this role, you will implement HR strategies, manage employee relations, and ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to HR excellence in a fast-paced, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies to improve organizational performance and deliver efficient HR services.
  • Manage relationships with European and local works councils for policy changes, reorganizations, and hybrid working initiatives.
  • Provide timely and accurate guidance on employee relations (ER) matters, including contract negotiations, grievance procedures, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Conduct investigations, mediate conflicts, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Centers of Expertise (COEs) on high-level cases, HR projects, and workforce planning.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on HR policies, performance management, and employee development.
  • Continuously improve HR processes by identifying opportunities for simplification and harmonization.
  • Prepare the annual labor plan, including headcount and remuneration costs, and track monthly financial performance in partnership with Finance.
  • Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all HR actions in HR systems.
  • Manage local vendor relationships and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Champion workplace safety, legal compliance, and a healthy work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; HR Management qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR or Employee Relations.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR processes.
  • Proven leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Experience in change management and coaching managers.
  • Proficient in HR systems, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with payroll systems is a plus.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Fluent in German and English; additional European languages are an advantage.
